When folded, the red corner design folds together to form the red petals, the high contrasted black becomes the flower’s interior, and the stem displays as a white exterior. The attending countries listed along the lily’s stem represents the stem of global issues and the idea that in order to allow human security and peace to bloom, the stem solution is global collaboration.
The origami lily was developed through intricate fold lines, folding tests, and trials of prototyping to ensure the poster could function both flat and folded. Each panel was carefully mapped so that the red areas aligned as petals, the white sections formed the stem, and the bilingual text remained intentional and readable.

The research centers on Hiroshima’s historical significance, the 1945 nuclear bombing, and the G7 Summit’s focus on peace, nuclear non-proliferation, and international security. In Japanese culture, white lilies symbolize life and purity, while red lilies are associated with death and mourning, making the red lily a meaningful visual symbol to honor victims while addressing the summit’s call for a peaceful global future.
